Russell Brand found guilty of rape and sexual assault

According to multiple outlets, a London jury at Southwark Crown Court found Russell Brand guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault. The Guardian and Al Jazeera reported the verdicts followed a trial involving allegations from several women. Brand was acquitted of two other rape charges and an attempted indecent assault, Variety and The Globe and Mail reported. Fox News and The Wall Street Journal reported he is expected to be sentenced on Monday. The New York Times reported the judge said he would face significant custodial time.
