About Kairos Reports
The world. As it happens.
The masthead
Kairos Reports is a news brand for Africans who want the world explained and for the diaspora who want home explained. It is built as a masthead with four shows underneath it, so that the standard survives any one presenter, and so that the presenter can be held to the standard in public.
- Kairos Explains — The world, explained. Scripted and graphics-led, every claim on screen with its source. Mon · Wed · Fri
- The Tayo Report — Opinion with receipts. Tayo Omoniyi, first person, every factual claim cited. Tue · Thu
- The Files — Investigations built on documents. Two sources, or one primary record with chain of custody. Monthly, then fortnightly
- The Brief — The daily ledger. What happened, who reported it, what we checked. No adjectives. Daily, 07:00 WAT
The standard
Every factual claim carries its source. On this site that is not a house style, it is a build rule: a page cannot be published without a source URL or a document reference, and the source is printed under the headline and listed in full at the end of every piece. The same rule is a database constraint in the editorial system that produces the drafts.
Three tracks, three sets of rules. The Brief repackages what other outlets reported, with attribution, and adds one original element (a document, a number we computed, a timeline). The Files publishes only what two independent sources or one primary document with a chain of custody support, after a legal checklist and a twelve-hour cooling period. The Tayo Report and Kairos Explains are opinion and explanation: the view is ours, but every fact inside the view is still cited.
Public benefit, stated, not implied. Under section 377 of Nigeria's Criminal Code, publishing something defamatory is not an offence only if it is true and for the public benefit. Both limbs. So any piece that names a person, and every investigation, carries a short statement of why it is published, visible in the copy. The build refuses the page without it.
No AI facts. Software helps us gather sources, draft wording and keep cadence. It does not generate facts, and it never generates imagery of real people or real events. Any synthetic presenter is labelled on screen.
Corrections are public. Every correction, clarification and update is logged with its date on /corrections and on the piece itself. Nothing is silently edited.
No trackers. This site sets no cookies, loads nothing from third parties, and serves its fonts from its own domain. The only request that ever leaves it is the one you make when you subscribe.
Who
Tayo Omoniyi is the founder and the on-camera anchor of The Tayo Report. He is Nigerian, works from Cabo Verde, and is the only byline on the site. Investigations are signed by him and reviewed per incident by counsel. Nobody inside Nigeria is bylined on Kairos Reports until a legal-defence arrangement is in place for them.
Kairos Reports is operated by El-Kairos International Services under the Kairos Financial Systems group.
